There's a lot of equipment that is required, or just very helpful, for a baby. It's overwhelming to figure out what to buy. We've looked around at different strollers and I think I've figured out the one that will work best for us. It's a jogging stroller, because I plan to go back to my old ways of running a lot and I don't think those plastic wheels on other strollers would last very long. However, most jogging strollers you can't put infants in them, which means it wouldn't be helpful this summer. So this stroller looks like the best I've found so far. It even has a cool triangle handle. If any of you have stroller experience and would like to offer any insights on whether or not this is a good choice, we'd love to hear it. That looks heavy. Good luck pushing it on the terribly maintained sidewalks of Provo.
Aaron's cousin has two kids under the age of three and she writes a blog where she has a few posts of baby items she's come to know and love. The address is www.discomom.blogspot.com You'll have to look through the older posts to find the lists.
Will that one fold down small enough to get it into your car? Does the front wheel swivel or is it stationary. I would go to Babies R Us and push it around the store for a while. You'll be amazed at how quickly your mind changes about certain things
What rating does the Carseat that is included have ALONE? Strollers are important, but carseats are ESSENTIAL. So if I were considering a system, that would be the very first place I would start my research. You will use it probably more than any other baby gear, so ease of use is important. But even more important is the safety ratings it recieves. Perhaps try the NHTSA. They have lots of info on safe carseats. Some things to condsider when researching a carseat: weight limits vs. how long you want to use it (many infant carriers top out at 22 lbs, and many babies reach that well before 1 year); style of handle; weight; installation (ie: does it need the base, or can you buckle it alone, like when traveling in someone else's car); and safety ratings. Good luck!
Like others have said, make sure you go somewhere where you can push the stroller, fold it up, un fold it, lift it, etc. THen buckle the harness on the carseat, lift it carry it around a bit. Make sure it is fairly easy to adust the straps on the car seat (some can be a royal pain when you are trying to loosen or tighten them). At first glance, as far as a jogging stroller goes, this does look nice, because you can use it for an infant! If you are looking for something light weight to take shopping though, probably not the best.
a lady i visit teach has a super sweet stroller that has speakers built in and a place to hook up your ipod. it is also a three wheel jogging stroller. i thought it would be so awesome to be trekking down the street jammin out with the babe.
Wow, that one looks great! I wish I had that one when Eliza was born. The only thing I would worry about it is if there's enough ventilation during hot provo summers, I guess. But maybe they have something built in for that? Looks like a cool one, though!
