Yesterday I had quite the conversation with my younger sister Heather. She is currently taking a family finance class at BYU and they were talking about life insurance and wills. She asked me if we have either of these, which we don't (yet). She volunteered herself to be Cal's guardian if we wanted her to since she doesn't have any kids of her own and she might not in the future either. I told her that we would probably prefer someone that is married to raise Calvin if something happened to me & Brandon. She gave me this mean look and I told her to quit acting like she wanted me to die so she could take care of my baby. Then she proceeded to call our other siblings and try to get their kids, even if they weren't married yet. The conversations were pretty entertaining, especially when our little brother got a hold of one of our sisters before Heather did so he could be the first to ask.
At one point in my converstation with Heather she said, "...so if something happens to you and Brandon.." I said "like you murdering us.." at the same time as she said "because I poisoned you..". Even though we had a lot of laughs about it, it really is something that we need to figure out. So if you're related to us and married, you might be hearing from us soon. And if you don't fall into that category, but you would still like to be Calvin's guardian in our will, let us know if you have a good argument and we may keep you in mind.

I'd like to view the size of your insurance policy before I consider such a possibility.
I think it is funny that Calvin's picture is on this post. It is almost like you are trying to sell him: Child looking for companionship from married couple. Great company, will do chores at appropriate age, diapers don't smell too bad, can be consoled with bottle. Call Becca 555-3691.
When I get married, I want him because I have red hair and my kids will look like his siblings. The End.
we are always available as guardians. Mike knows how to handle brandon, so he could probably deal with calvin. We are a little worried that he will out grow the both of us by the time he's eight with the genetics that brandon's passed on to him though.
Chris and I have been trying to figure out the same dilemma for about 6 years now, and are still in the same place as when we started . . . nowhere! Good luck with that.
P.S. I'm going to nominate myself NOT to take him since I'm pretty sure that might push me over the edge.
I will throw myself into the running for Calvin's godfather. First order of business: legal name change to Franklin Tennenbaum. Second order of business: can he cook and clean?
With a picture like that on your blog of the little man - you might get complete strangers offering you money to be his guardian. So so so cute. If your looking for dysfunctional - put my name down!!!
Aaron and I have been fighting over who would be our kid's guardian for years now. Since we can't agree on a family member, I think he'd probably have the coolest life if we just released him into the wild right before we died, like Mowgli. Calvin looks hardy enough for that option.
I'm glad Heather ruined her chances of getting Calvin, it makes my chances that much better. :)
What have you done! By posting this blog you have ruined any of my chances of getting Calvin. Everyone is eyeballing him now. I asked first!
