My sister came over for some help with a painting she's doing for extra credit in her humanities class. We went over her composition and colors and values, etc. Sometimes she would decide on things that I would correct and explain why it wouldn't look good. And then she would laugh at me. She said she didn't realize I had a whole thought process to creating art, she thought I could sit down and it just came out. I don't know how she came up with that, it seems quite illogical to me. Then when she started working on her painting she turned to me and asked, "does Brandon know you think about your art?" So, to anyone else out there who doesn't know this: artists think about what they do. Some know more than others, have more to think about, and therefore create better paintings. I don't know all that much, but I do think.

haha, when I read this post about you helping your friend with her composition I thought that Monet was her painting. I was like "I don't think she needs any help with her colors and composition!"
I get that all the time. People seem to think art takes no thought or work. It's such a rip off.
Okay, not that I'm comparing my blog writing skills to your painting (because you are way more talented as an artist than I am as a goofy writer) but people will sometimes say, "oh I loved such-and-such about your post." I'm thinking to myself, "yeah, I was pretty proud of that paragraph too. Took me an hour to write that..."
