When we came home earlier I thought our apartment smelled pretty bad. Brandon said, "We just have a smell now. You know, like people's houses that always have a certain odor and everyone in the family kind of smells similar. We have our own smell now." He had a big smile like this was an accomplishment we had been working towards for a long time. I'm pretty sure we just need to empty the trash. I hope that's not "our smell".
The only people's houses that I've noticed with a certain smell are either incredibly filthy people who don't bathe, wash dishes, nor do laundry, (not us) OR people who have everything spotless clean, brand new stuff all the time, and constantly use air fresheners or candles (also not us).

Anytime I forget what Brandon's smell is I just go smell the carpet upstairs in the blue room.
Just wait 'til you get a baby. Then you get stinky diaper smell!
I had to cat sit the other day. I took my 9 year old brother with me. We walked into the small apt that houses 4 cats and Christian perked up his nose and said, "Wow, is there a air freshner that makes apartments smell bad?" I laughed. Nope...just litter boxes.
Nate and I grew up together in the same town/ward. There was a family that had a certain smell to their house, as well. They were all bed wetters. Yeah, I hope to never have a smell that says "The Mathews", because you're right, having a smell has never really been a good thing!
