One of the most interesting principles to me in economics is how you can pay someone for something and it then diminishes in value. When I was listening to a discussion on the ethics for women selling their eggs they were discussing this concept. It comes up with a lot of medical type of donations, like donating blood. I have decided that is why I don't allow my friends to pay for haircuts. They value is just too high to give it a price, recieving money would just diminish it's value.
