One of my favorite parts of new jobs are the random things you get to learn that you didn't expect to. For example, at my current graphic design job I expected to gain more proficiency with illustrator and flash, which I have. However, I had no idea I would be learning and permanently ingraining into my brain what covalent and ionic bonding is. That's what happens when you spend many many hours trying to figure out how to get those electrons to spin the way you want them to.
At other jobs I've also learned random things. At my first job I had the Dewey decimal system mostly memorized, I knew what categories were where in the library. At the pie factory I learned how far in advance pumpkin pies are made before Thanksgiving, along with how you say "boxes" in Spanish. At the school supply warehouse I learned about drug dealing and how to use a box knife with great skill. At the grocery store I was pretty proud of my ability to name the aisle for any food item you might be trying to find. That's just a few examples, but I think you get what I'm talking about.

I think my job should have earned me a degree in psychology by now. It has also taught me how to eat healthy, how to be a pro dumpster diver, how to be a salesperson, and how to memorize phone scripts.
Don't forget that it's made you an expert weasel hunter.
of course I didn't deal drugs, I just learned about it in case I ever want to. Illustration isn't always the easiest field you know.
At my first job I learned how to avoid learning in all my future jobs.
