We don't have any kind of cable, just what I thought were basic stations. However, Canada is basic too I guess. Some of you may be familiar with Qubo, which is the only all-cartoon station we get. Cal's favorites are BG and Jacob Two-Two. I have to say, the art for Two-Two is kind of cool. If we tell him BG or Two-Two isn't on he'll respond with "check". He doesn't trust us that we know they're not on, now we have to check. oh he is funny. And he tells us when things are funny too. The other day he was looking at a picture of a bald eagle and he pointed at the beak and said, "teeth, funny". I don't know what was funny about it, but I sure like seeing him laughing and telling me what he thinks is funny.

I can see how an eagle's "Tooth" could be funny. In a sense the eagle just has one buck tooth and that makes people laugh like crazy. Calvin is very perceptive.
hey we don't have cable either and qubo is jayden's favorite also! he likes anything animated but he seems to interact with "where's boo" the most. too bad we don't live closer so the boys can laugh at it together.
I thought he was saying 'check' as in "Roger that".
Before the switch to digital TV, the only cartoons we had were PBS, which ended at noon for the news programs. It was nice because I could let the kids watch just a little bit of TV in the morning and when they asked about tv in the afternoon I could just show them that there weren't any kids shows on.
Now we get Qubo and there's child-friendly programming on 24/7 and we've had to enforce "TV time" with more strictness.
I still like PBS' morning shows better than Qubo as they are more educational and better suited to my kids' preschool age. Oh, and my kids have also started parroting the silly commercials. Wait 'til Calvin starts telling you that you need the Sleep Number bed if your back hurts, or that you need the exercise machine while poking your belly, or begs and pleads for AquaSand.
Yeah, Qubo cartoons are ok, but I'm not a huge fan.
I have the same opinion as Jessica.
I prefer PBS, but only get Qubo. I too have been told I need to get things on commercials because of my belly and aqua sand commercials cause a ringing out of that's mine, that's mine. We have had to nix cartoons for a while. Jamie started waking up at 4 or 5 in the morning and asking if she could watch Qubo. I think we need to break the addiction.
Gotta love Qubo for all day cartoons when you are desperate! We don't have cable either, so we rely on Qubo for those times too!
Reuben goes on these little monologues which he ends with a hearty laugh and some muttering. It makes him look like a crazy person which has me worried he's doing an impression of me.
